First constructed in 1771 during China's Qing Dynasty, Puji Temple is the nearest Tibetan Buddhist temple to Lijiang's Dayan Old Town. Starting in Puji Village, at the foot of Puji Mountain, guests will cross the pine forest, admiring the view of the Lijiang Dam, before arriving at the tranquil Puji Temple. There are two ancient cherry blossoms with a history of more than 200 years, known as the “crown of Yunnan cherry blossoms', which stand in front of the main hall. The most beautiful time to visit is when the Malus spectabilis bloom in April. There are also many pear trees that can be found outside the temple and every spring and autumn the scenery is at its most spectacular.
