Many people have been to Shangri-La, but few people know about the mysterious and hidden destination called Nanjiluo. Set within the depths of Biluo Snow Mountain, it is located about 31 miles (50km) (about a 1.5 hour drive) away from Songtsam Lodge Cizhong. It has the best group of alpine lakes found within the Songtsam Yunnan circuit with a dreamlike backdrop that includes mountain peaks, lakes, and seas of flowers.

Home to eleven mountain lakes, each one holds a different character and are scattered across the mountains like blue sapphires. The area is an excellent photography destination and due to the difference in the vertical elevation you will come across an abundance of alpine plants, especially in May when the azaleas start to bloom.

However, the journey to Nanjiluo is not easy. There are many bumps and bends on the way but from the moment you step out of the car, you will be completely immersed in its breathtaking beauty.
