Songtsam Lodge Namcha Barwa is nestled in Darin Village, deep within the picturesque Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon. Deep within the rare paradise of flora and fauna, this unique, small local village offers panoramic views of the nine peaks of the Namcha Barwa Mountain System and the Gyala Peri Peak just across the river.

Songtsam Lodge Namcha Barwa has a total of 33 rooms, including deluxe rooms, superior suites, family rooms and Namcha Barwa deluxe suites, ranging from more than 49 to 195 m². The hotel currently boasts an onsite restaurant and bar, spa, meeting space, library, outdoor pool and penthouse terrace. The restaurant is located on the second floor and can accommodate 78 people. The meeting room is 42 m², which can accommodate small meetings and about 20-30 people.

Dining

Milin County, home to Darin Village, means "medicine continent" in Tibetan. The continuous rainfall promotes the growth of Chinese medicinal herbs such as palm ginseng, angelica, and ganoderma lucidum. Local chickens, Tibetan pigs, and yak meat from the alpine pastures serve as the restaurant menu’s main ingredients, combined with traditional Chinese medicines to create various medicinal dishes like palm ginseng stewed chicken and fritillary beef soup. Additionally, a hot pot set with a broth base of pine nut, braised pork chop and Tibetan bacon is available for dinner.Guests also highly praise the desserts, including peach pie and apple pudding made from dried local peaches and sweet-and-sour dried apples.

Activities

The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is one of the few natural mysteries on Earth. From the path behind the hotel, guests can walk to the back of the mountain to take in views of the region. Dew glitters on the pine needles, and the nearby Yarlung Zangbo River can be seen flowing through the branches of azaleas and oaks. Follow the pilgrimage path of the locals' annual "Turning Gala" to visit Chibai Village and experience the authentic style of a Tibetan village in Gongbu.
