Glacier view in Eastern Tibet
After centuries of isolation from other ancient kingdoms and civilizations, Eastern Tibet exists within an atmosphere of spirituality and mysticism.
Entering the snowy plateau of Dalin is like walking through a door to a secret realm. You will be greeted with the unparalleled beautiful scenery filled with deep gorges and snowy mountains. Explore further, and you will find yourself among exciting high altitude passes, towering peaks, and peaceful grazing yaks while you explore Tibetan life.

Great Canyon of Yarlung Tsangpo
Eastern Tibet is home to the world's deepest canyon - Yarlung Tsangpo. To many, it is among other destinations considered to be the eighth wonder of the world. With this, the Great Canyon of Yarlung Tsangpo is starting to garner attention as a tourist attraction.
Not only is the canyon a beauty in itself, but it is also home to a host of luscious flora and beautiful wildlife. Here, you can follow the wooden trail through the slopes, find many rare species of life, and experience the canyon's unique microclimate. The unpredictable nature of its weather, with rolling fog and fluctuating temperatures, only adds to the magic and mystery of the region.
The Yarlung Tsangpo canyon can be best viewed from a vantage point in the remote Zhacu Village. Here, you can find stunning panoramas of the river bend, where it wraps around the base of Mount Namcha Barwa's towering peak. It is where the world's highest river and deepest gorge are showcased in all their glory.

Namcha Barwa
Towering over Yarlung Tsangpo Canyon is the most majestic mountain in Tibet, Namcha Barwa. As one of the highest mountains in the world, Namcha Barwa comes in at third on the list of most prominent peaks in the Himalayas. With its sheer size, you can imagine the pure feeling of wonder you will feel in its presence.
The summit is covered by snow all year round, with a sharp point always surrounded by heavy clouds. As a result, the peak has been nicknamed the "Shy Mountain of Tibet." This quality consistently keeps the vague impression and allure that attracts visitors from all over the world. Waking up to the sunrise highlighting the sharp peak through the clouds, is a breathtaking experience that one will never forget.
The Legend of Namcha Barwa and Gyala Peri
It comes as no surprise that Namcha Barwa has an associated legend with its mystery and intrigue. Ancient tales tell us that Namcha Barwa and his confrere, peak Gyala Peri, were two brothers sent from the heavens to guard the region of Eastern Tibet.
The legend goes that Gyala Peri was a competent and stoic man, who gradually grew taller than his elder brother. In jealousy, Namcha Barwa murdered his younger sibling and threw his head into Mainling County nearby. After his crime had been discovered, he was sentenced to guard the Yarlung Tsangpo River and remain with the body of his younger brother forever. It is also said that Namcha Barwa's peak is rarely seen because he is hiding his head in the clouds in shame.
The legend breathes story into the appearances of the two mountains. Namcha Barwa stands firm, like a guard, while Gyala Peri has a rounded top where it lost its' head.'

Traveling the Palomzangbu Grand Canyon is an invigorating adventure that highlights the beautiful, yet harsh environment. Surrounded by the raw nature of glaciers, abrupt cliffs, falling rock debris, and a strong river, you can't help but marvel at the power of nature.
Due to the rugged terrain, many parts of the canyon have yet to be touched by humans. Because of this, it is often hailed as 'the last secret on Earth.'
Bome, The Land of Ice and Snow
This land of ice and snow features a wild fluctuation in weather patterns, carving and battering the landscape to what we marvel at today. The warmth and humidity of the Indian Ocean flow through to the region, mixing with the frozen glaciers to create a magnificent destination. Moreover, the snow mountains and forests combine to create a magical tundra, and the glittering glaciers are a feast for the eyes.
Glittering glaciers and forests in Bomi

The Tibetan Paper Workshop
Tibetan paper workshops are an integral part of Tibet's rich history. Unfortunately, the ancient craft almost went extinct with the introduction of mass-produced paper in the last century. Thankfully, in Bome, you are able to witness the masters produce paper the traditional way. The ingredients for paper are found either by casting or fishing in the nearby lake, and then the pulp made from organic materials called “sorrel,” is poured into paper frames and hung from the ceiling to dry.
Renowned for being insect-proof and long-lasting, the ancient process is still practiced today. Moreover, this sacred method still allows tourists to have the pleasure of viewing.
