Songtsam Lodge Meili, with an altitude of 3600 meters, is located in the GEJINONG village(belongs to Deqin County) on the upper reaches of the Lancang River(upper Mekong river).
Sitting on a wooded hillside, GEJINONG village is a semi-pastoral village with only five Tibetan families.
During the rainy season, the boletus is abundant in the forest, while barley, mangrove and potatoes growing in the village.
Besides, yak meat、buttered tea、Tibetan cheese are gifts from the alpine pasture.
In the winter, people would kill pigs for the Spring Festival and brew highland barley wine. Because the altitude here is high and the temperature is low, the menu is high-calorie-meat based.
