At the junction of Nushan mountain and Biluo snow mountain, the Lancang (Upper Mekong) River flows southward through mountains and valleys. It is a great place to feel the collision of Chinese and Western cultures.
The 100 year old Cizhong Church sits at the highest point of the village. It was designed and built using a combination of gothic and ancient Chinese architecture and can be seen through the window of Songtsam Lodge Cizhong.
The black and white photos found on the walls of hotel rooms tell their own story, which were taken by Western explorers during the Republic of China. In the village, people of different faiths and ethnicities live together in the same land, in peace and tranquility.
